Signs that a driver near you might be drunk

You've probably seen an intoxicated motorist on a California highway more than once in your life. In fact, you may even have been involved in a collision because of someone's poor choice to get behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol. Such accidents happen throughout the nation every day and many people suffer because of others' negligence. Some have been able to avoid drunk driving crashes because they knew ahead of time what to look for to recognize a potential problem on the road.

Study shows police blame speed too often for motorcycle crashes

A recent study, conducted by the Motorcycle Council, suggests that speed is too often pointed to as the factor that caused a motorcycle crash than it should be. They argue that police investigators are too overzealous to charge motorcyclists or car drivers with traffic-related offenses that they neglect to fully investigate these crashes. It's believed that this practice gives way to continued accidents as opposed to reducing them.

Santa Ana doctor removed kidney, not spleen, and keeps license

California's Medical Board has ruled that a Santa Ana urologist will no longer be allowed to neither see patients nor perform operations on them without being under the immediate supervision by another physician. He is also forbidden from performing any nephrectomies, the medical term assigned to a surgical procedure to remove either one of both of an individual's kidneys, as well.

San Bernardino woman dies after being hit by alleged drunk driver

A 26-year-old San Bernardino woman lost her life in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 3, 2017, after she became wedged in between a sheriff's transport van and another vehicle. It's believed that the 34-year-old male that struck the rear of the woman's car was intoxicated at the time the accident occurred.

California's hospitals face steep declines in standard of care

A study released by the employer-backed health care watchdog, The Leapfrog Group, suggests that the quality of health care offered in California has significantly declined. The most recent statistics put out by the nonprofit organization in April of 2017 show that nearly one half of all California hospitals performed at either a C level or below in terms of patient safety during this past year.
