California car accidents can occur for a multitude of reasons, and no one is immune from the potential of being involved in a crash. In some of these accidents, a famous or prominent person might be involved. A February accident involving the reality television show personality and former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner resulted in the death of a woman and five other people suffering injuries.
Jenner is now facing a lawsuit filed by the family injured in the car accident. The lawsuit claims that Ms. Jenner was negligent when she rear-ended the vehicle of the woman who was killed. The family in this lawsuit was in an SUV that hit the deceased woman's vehicle after it was hit by Ms. Jenner.
In the lawsuit, the male driver claims that had severe injuries to his wrist and that his infant son was not responsive following the car collision. His wife had blunt-force injuries and is still being treated. The accident investigation found that Ms. Jenner was operating her vehicle at a speed that was considered unsafe based on the traffic conditions at the time. Ms. Jenner is also being sued by the family of the woman who died as well as another driver who was involved in the accident.
Motor vehicle accidents often result in serious injuries, and victims may face high medical expenses and long recovery periods. A person who has been injured in a car crash that was the result of another motorist's negligence may want to have the assistance of a personal injury attorney when seeking compensation for the losses that have been incurred.
